Tennova Healthcare - Shelbyville Appreciates Dr. Frank Jayakody’s Service As A Board of Trustee Member

SHELBYVILLE, TN, Tennova Healthcare-Shelbyville would like to thank Dr. Frank Jayakody for his services as a Board of Trustee member. Dr. Jayakody joined the medical staff in January 1980 as a Family Medicine physician. Since then he has been vital in creating the excellent medical community in Bedford County. Dr. Jayakody served as the Medical Director for the Community Clinic in 2006 and joined the Board of Trustees in 2007. In his 8-year cumulative appointment, Dr. Jayakody is recognized throughout Tennova Healthcare-Shelbyville for playing an instrumental role in the local decision to sell the Bedford County Medical Center and build the new hospital. “Dr. Jayakody has always been willing to serve in whatever capacity was needed. As a physician, he is very insightful, and has been a true family physician, following his patients through the hospital and surgeries. He has functioned on all levels up to and including serving as Board Chairman,” said Dr. Russell.

“We are very appreciative for the dedication that Dr. Jayakody has given to the hospital and Bedford County”, said CEO, Bill Rich. “His insight and input to the Board of Trustees for the hospital will be missed”, said Rich.
