Dr. Jeremy Wetmore Joins Tennova’s Medical Staff

Physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist named medical director
of Tennova Rehab Care Center at Lakeway Regional Hospital
KNOXVILLE, TN (December 19, 2017) – Tennova Healthcare recently welcomed Jeremy Wetmore, D.O., a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, to the active medical staff at Lakeway Regional Hospital in Morristown. He sees patients at Healthstar Orthopedics and Physical Medicine. Dr. Wetmore has also been named medical director of the Tennova Rehab Care Center at Lakeway Regional Hospital.
Dr. Wetmore is dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of a broad range of medical conditions, including stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries, and neurodegenerative diseases. He is experienced in caring for inpatients with serious injuries and illnesses, including amputation, cancer, orthopedic and neurological conditions. Dr. Wetmore received his medical degree from the University of Pikeville – Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, KY. He completed an internship at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, MI, and a residency at Wayne State University Medical Center in Detroit, MI. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
“As a rehabilitation physician, I enjoy helping people with physical impairments and disabilities to become more independent and overcome barriers to living a full life,” Dr. Wetmore said. “These disabilities and impairments are often the result of a stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, significant physical trauma or fractures.”
Tennova Rehab Care Center at Lakeway Regional Hospital offers inpatient rehabilitation for patients age 18 and older who have medical and functional limitations related to physical impairment, and who have the ability to tolerate and benefit from a comprehensive rehabilitation program. The team offers a patient-focused and interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation care while taking into account the personal goals of the patient and family. Services include 24-hour nursing care by registered nurses, registered nurse case management, and physical, occupational and speech therapy.
