Harton Recognized by Imagination Library and Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation
7/24/2018
This year marks the five-year anniversary of the partnership formed with Tennova Healthcare – Harton, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – Coffee County and the Tennessee Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation. Harton’s dedication to providing excellent care as well as recognizing the importance of literacy has played a huge role in the membership enrollment growth to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Coffee County and the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation. Since the partnership began, there has been a 22% increase in the number of children registered in the area.
Babies born at Tennova Healthcare – Harton’s Women’s Center come from Moore, Lincoln, Bedford, Franklin, Grundy and Coffee County. The growth in registration is attributed to the initiative of Tennova Healthcare – Harton as encouraging parents to register their new born in the program and also giving them the first book, “The Little Engine That Could”, prior to discharge.
The partnership celebration was held on Friday, July 13, 2018. Attending and participating in the ceremony were Francis Samples and additional board members from Coffee County Imagination Library, Dean Hoskins, VP of the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, Claire Jones, GBBF Communication and Marketing Outreach Coordinator, nurses, staff and physicians from Tennova Healthcare – Harton. A letter of appreciation from Frist Lady Crissy Haslam was read and presented to Rich Ellis, CEO, Tennova Healthcare – Harton. Frances Samples presented a framed book to Mr. Ellis as a token of the Coffee County Imagination Library’s appreciation.
